Jackie Robinson Dies

On October 24, 1972, Jackie Robinson died of a heart attack at age 53. At his funeral, Jesse Jackson delivered the eulogy. Robinson had spent his post-baseball years advocating for civil rights and had expressed frustration with the slow pace of racial progress.
