Jackie Robinson Retires from Baseball

On January 5, 1957, Jackie Robinson officially retired from baseball. He had a lifetime batting average of .311, was a six-time All-Star, and won the 1949 MVP award. He devoted the rest of his life to business and civil rights activism.
