Ida B. Wells Born

Born on July 16, 1862, Ida B. Wells became one of the most prominent investigative journalists and anti-lynching crusaders in American history. Her pamphlet "Southern Horrors" exposed the reality of lynching in the South. She co-founded the NAACP and fought tirelessly for civil rights and women's suffrage.
