Memphis Free Speech Newspaper Destroyed

On March 9, 1892, a white mob destroyed the offices of the Memphis Free Speech newspaper, edited by Ida B. Wells. Her fearless editorials exposing the truth about lynching in the South made her a target, forcing her to relocate to Chicago where she continued her crusade.
