Granville T. Woods Born

Born April 23, 1856, Granville T. Woods held over 60 patents, including the multiplex telegraph for railways and an improved telephone transmitter. Thomas Edison challenged one of his patents and lost. Woods sold many of his patents to companies like General Electric and Westinghouse.
