A. Philip Randolph Plans March on Washington Movement

In March 1941, labor leader A. Philip Randolph began organizing the March on Washington Movement to protest racial discrimination in the defense industry. The threat of 100,000 marchers led President Roosevelt to issue Executive Order 8802, banning discrimination in defense industries.
