Jordan Peele's Get Out Released

On February 24, 2017, Jordan Peele's directorial debut "Get Out" was released. The horror-satire about a Black man visiting his white girlfriend's family grossed over $255 million on a $4.5 million budget. Peele won the Academy Award for Best Original Screenplay, becoming the first Black writer to do so.

Eddie Murray Born

Born February 24, 1956, Eddie Murray was one of only three players to achieve both 3,000 hits and 500 home runs. He played 21 seasons in Major League Baseball and was inducted into the Hall of Fame in 2003.
