The Wright Brothers and Paul Laurence Dunbar

On February 9, 1906, Paul Laurence Dunbar died of tuberculosis. He was a close friend of the Wright Brothers and the first African American to gain national acclaim as a poet. His poems in both standard English and dialect captured the African American experience of his era.
