Tulsa Race Massacre Begins

On May 31, 1921, white mobs attacked the Greenwood District of Tulsa, Oklahoma, one of the wealthiest Black communities in America known as "Black Wall Street." Over two days, as many as 300 people were killed, 10,000 were left homeless, and 35 blocks were destroyed. The massacre was covered up for decades.
