Marsha P. Johnson and Stonewall

On June 28, 1969, Marsha P. Johnson was among those who resisted a police raid at the Stonewall Inn in New York City. The uprising is widely considered the beginning of the modern LGBTQ+ rights movement. Johnson co-founded STAR (Street Transvestite Action Revolutionaries) with Sylvia Rivera.
