Dorothy West Born

Born June 2, 1907, Dorothy West was the youngest member of the Harlem Renaissance literary circle. Her novel "The Living Is Easy" (1948) explored the Black middle class. At age 88, she published "The Wedding" (1995) with encouragement from Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
