Amiri Baraka Dies

On January 9, 2014, Amiri Baraka died at Beth Israel Medical Center in Newark. His prolific career spanned poetry, drama, fiction, and essays. Despite controversy, he remained one of the most influential African American literary figures of the 20th century.
