Muhammad Ali Refuses Induction

On April 28, 1967, Muhammad Ali refused to step forward when his name was called at the Armed Forces Examining and Entrance Station in Houston. He was stripped of his heavyweight title and convicted of draft evasion, a conviction later overturned by the Supreme Court.
