Angola Three Imprisoned

Beginning in 1972, three Black men — Herman Wallace, Albert Woodfox, and Robert King — were placed in solitary confinement at Angola prison. Woodfox spent 43 years in isolation, one of the longest in U.S. history, before his conviction was overturned.
