Winnie Mandela Born

Born September 26, 1936, Winnie Mandela was a leading figure in the anti-apartheid movement, enduring imprisonment, banishment, and harassment while Nelson Mandela was in prison. She was known as the "Mother of the Nation" and continued her activism until her death in 2018.
