Born October 18, 1926, Chuck Berry's guitar riffs, showmanship, and songwriting — including "Johnny B. Goode," "Maybellene," and "Roll Over Beethoven" — established the blueprint for rock and roll. John Lennon said "if you tried to give rock and roll another name, you might call it Chuck Berry."
