Kingdom of Kush Conquers Egypt

Piye (also known as Piankhi), the Kushite king from Nubia (modern-day Sudan), launched a military campaign that conquered all of Egypt. He established the 25th Dynasty, often called the Nubian Dynasty, which ruled Egypt for nearly a century. The Kushite pharaohs restored traditional Egyptian temples and culture while bringing their own Nubian traditions.

Ruth Bader Ginsburg Born

Born March 15, 1933, Ruth Bader Ginsburg credited African American lawyer Pauli Murray for the legal framework she used to argue gender discrimination cases. She co-authored a brief with Murray for Reed v. Reed (1971), connecting the struggles for racial and gender equality.
