June 10, 1938

Robert Johnson Dies

On August 16, 1938, Robert Johnson died under mysterious circumstances near Greenwood, Mississippi, at age 27. Despite recording only 29 songs, his influence on blues, rock, and popular music is immeasurable. He was among the first inductees of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
