Bessie Coleman Born

Bessie Coleman was born on January 26, 1892, in Atlanta, Texas. She became the first African American woman and first Native American to hold a pilot's license, earning it in France in 1921 after being denied admission to flight schools in the United States.

Condoleezza Rice Becomes Secretary of State
